Default Do you have a Blu-ray addiction?

My wife keeps giving me the business for all of the money that I have spent in the last couple of months on movies. I believe I have an addiction. Like all good addicts I plan out every purchase and every excuse. You better believe that I hunt down all good sales and try my darnedest to pick up every film I can afford. I'm on this forum ever chance I get. LOL, all jokes aside I'm really not an addict......I'm an enthusiest. There I go again back into denial. I loved video games, but now I think that I love Blu ray even more. Just remember whatever you do, just don't help me. HD DUD is going down and I plan on making it permanent. "They tried to make me go to rehab and I said, No No No! "

I only have a Blu-ray problem when there's a good sale. Almost all of my blu-rays have cost me 19.99 or under, Except Planet Earth, Smallville Season 6, and 300. At 50 or so Blu-rays that's not to bad.

Funny, Petey-- but I wonder if there's maybe a grain of truth behind the humor. Love 'em myself-- maybe overmuch. BTW, I still like half.com for the occasional really good bargain. Never been disappointed in delivery or quality.

It IS a mystery. I didn't have the addiction with DVDs but I do with Blu-ray. And loving it.

There is ONE cure... keep buying BD movies... it won't actually cure the problem... but if you get your "fix" you can get through the day...

I try to keep to 4 or 5 a month. (got 8 last month) But it never seems to work.

$499 PS3 should dig the next foot of the HD Dud grave. 2 more feet and we can enjoy some Universal movies.

I'm well on my way to becoming a BD addict. I've had my player for one week now and I already bought five discs.

After selling off >1,500 DVDs, I swore I'd only buy movies that I KNOW I'll watch again. And so far when it comes to Blu-Rays, I've done a good job at raising the standard. There are movies I like, but that no longer means those are movies I'll buy. They have to be a little higher than "liked" on my scale. And I counted today... I have 43 BDs with 3 on order from Amazon.

And if you haven't though of it yet, consider selling those used DVDs at your local shops while people are still buying them. I know you have several years until they stop buying DVDs, but now you can be one of the first to unload as I did.

Where did you sell your used DVD's? I'm like you, totally ditching DVD for Blu-ray but will only be purchasing movies that are above average and will watch for many years to come.

What you should do is always make sure that you can afford whatever your purchase is. Essential expenses should always come first though. Taking care of yourself and your family should be your first priority always.

There is no way I can replace all my DVDs with BDs. I promised myself I would only get the new ones an maybe replace the classics.
