I am confused ... why would you want to batch a blu-ray movie on a PS3, hooked up thru a RF modulator to a Non-HD TV?

whatever you have done, sounds like it's just hooked up completely wrong!
See if there are any other input connections on the TV. (Component or Composite)

i didnt use the three wires, yellow, red, white because i dont have an outlet on my tv for them... and my scart plug was being used... so i used the rf unit that is used my ps2 on and it works for games but not blue ray

i can watch the film, it's just in black and white... is there any settings i can change to alter this?

I think you'll need to find another plugging method and/or get an input switcher or receiver?
But check on the PS3 Display Settings to see what options you have there

How old is this TV? a scart plug? Isn't that from the 70s?

Well I don't know how to adjust the settings for an RF hook up on a PS3... I think the best bet is to play around with it a bit and look into getting a new TV. But that is just my suggestion.

from your reference:

In Europe, SCART is the most common method of connecting audio-visual equipment together, and has become the standard connector for such devices (even more so than the phono plug)

Sounds like your using the old ps2 RF connector, The ps3 is not suppose to work with anything less then composite, that adapter is made for ps1/ps2 for crappy looking 480i signals. If your tv doesn't support at least red/white/yellow you will need to buy an rf modulator. And don't expect to notice any difference in video quality as it will look just like your normal dvds unless you get a tv that supports component/hdmi of course an hdtv.
Hope that helps.

Since your set is limited in terms of inputs, the best way, although a bit more work, is to remove the Scart cable from your other source and plug in the one you'd use with the PS3. Do the opposite when you're done. But the Blu-Ray's won't look any better than regular DVD's if your set is not HD. The PS3 will have to downconvert.

BD video output format

BD 1080 24 hz output

I think you need to lookup the Display Settings, it should say something like
HDMI
Component
S-Video

etc

if youre using RF and that satisfies you, Kryptron's solution might be the easy one: get a video to RF modulator and use the PS3s video output?

or swapping the device that gets the scart etc.

You definately should put the PS3 in through SCART. SCART at least is RGB

I'm sure they must have switchboxes for them out there

Don't take this the wrong way, but it may be time for a upgrade? Many places have programs with delayed payment options or where you can buy and make monthly payments as long as you pay off with-in a year time period and you get no interest charge. Just a option.
