Default Comcast to raise prices...AGAIN

Quote:
There will be a reported price increase for subscribers of Comcast’s cable TV services next month, and the blame is being placed squarely on the shoulders of HDTV.

Citizens of California and Washington have been warned by Comcast that their rates will be increasing anywhere from 1.6% to 2.7% in the upcoming year. Additionally, cable modem rental rates will increase from three dollars monthly up to five.

“We continually invest in providing customers with next-generation equipment and technology” said Comcast in a statement issued yesterday. “Our costs for this new equipment will increase by 167% over the next two years.”

Comcast could not give specifics on who the rate hikes will affect, but said that they will happen market to market, but are starting this fall.

They blame HDTV for the price increase....

Stupid CBS HD channel screws up sometimes during football games! It's either no sound, or messed up video.

For what Comcast offers as compared to DirecTv, I felt I get a lot more for my $$$ than what Comcast charges, and that is why I left Comcast 2 years ago for DirecTv. Increases are inevitable it seems, but just to what degree they can be justified is the real question.....

Glad I switched to FIOS so far (it's been about 6 months now). I'll probably complain, though, when my "promotional" rates finally disappear. I'll either have to switch again or talk FIOS back down.

I want FiOS. They don't offer it in my apartment complex yet

I'm stuck with Charter. I'm probably going to cancel HBO and CInemax today. It's getting expensive.

I've had Fios for a while now, and I love it (tons of HD channels and 20Mbps download speed). The last time my rate changed, it actually got lowered!

I will never go back to cable. I feel for those that can't get satellite.

I've had nothing but big problems with satellite in Georgia (due to topography) and Florida (due to daily rainstorms).

Yea, that would be a problem for some. Luckily not for me.

As usual new tech is more cost effective and often cheaper. And as far as I can tell the service provided is the same. Comcast BS again...

Since I switched to satellite in the mid-90s I never once considered going back to cable, their prices is one of the main reasons.

I'm having Dish installed this afternoon, but I'm keeping Charter for my internet. Dish just seems to have lot more HD channels.

hope I have a good experience, some people seem to love it and others had a nightmare of a time. seems that way with all cable/dish products around here. No Fios available
