need help upgrading firmware for yamaha Rx-v565 - Blu-ray Forum

I have never done a firmware upgrade for a receiver before it seems more trouble than a blu-ray player.
Do i have disconnect the speaker wire from the receiver.

I don't know how you would upgrade this unit with out an ethernet port on the back. I'm not that familiar with this model but i don't think you can upgrade it.

If no network connection you may do it via USB, if it has a USB port. Anyhow, need to be careful since this could brick the receiver.

Don't worry i'm taking it to a Yamaha service centre where they can do the firmware update.
