Default Disney's "Earth"

I was watching the new Narnia and seen a preview for Disney-nature Earth film. This looks absolutely fantastic. Set for an Earth Day release.. 4/22/09

I normally don't like Documentaries but this is a must, both in Theaters and Blu-Ray.

It would be, if I hadn't already seen all the footage in the BBC Planet Earth series...

It does look similar but maybe Disney has something more up its sleeve for this release. It looks spectacular though.

I think it's just cobbled together out of footage from the Planet Earth series. If you've got the Planet Earth Blu-Ray, you've seen this already...sort of.

It's just a pared-down version of Planet Earth. The elephants, the polar bears and the whales are the central "characters" of this film, all of whose stories we've already seen in Planet Earth.

I seriously doubt there's anything new to be had from this release. I commend Disney for bringing something like this to the big-screen, I just wish it had been original footage.

It does look similar but i can't see Disney doing something embarrassing like that .
It will probably be all if not mostly new material .

We can see...from the trailer.

It's the story of the polar bear mother and her cubs, the elephant pack making the trek to Okavango Delta, and the humpback whales migrating.

All footage is compiled from Planet Earth, and it's been condensed into a 2-hour movie in cooperation with the BBC.

For people who just want to see the stories of the families and not all the other cool stuff in the series.

Earth has already been released outside the US, and indeed is available on DVD in the UK (but not on Blu-ray IIRC). I believe that it does have some "new" footage, but nothing major and the bulk if footage already used in Planet Earth.

It does however had new narration and (in the UK at least) a slightly different edit.
