Couple things...
I don't get the "spartan approach" is it an inside joke that this bloke doesn't get???? I like it.... you focused on the audio/video.... and that's what really matters. In your "Before" pictures.... what gear was on the equipment rack???? I couldn't make it out in the pictures. What was the reason for the switch in projectors and AVRs? weren't happy with the originals for one reason or another? and of course..... what are the future plans?? ![]() |

Spartan as in ancient Greece, used to signify lack of frills (no pictures, statues, posters, etc.) Many members like to make there theaters a visual showcase (WAF), I just want to sit and watch movies or listen to music(very understanding wife)

Only future plan right now is to get the Oppo BDP-83 universal blu-ray player (when it comes available) which will replace 2 decks currently used. The HD-DVD capability will be retired. Other than that not much in mind until the next greatest thing hits the market and can be purchased at lower end consumer pricing.... ![]() |

In my short lived mid-fi days the rack had Rotel components (see list below) which included the Behringer FBD and Behringer TUBE ULTRA-Q T1951 Equalizer. 2 x 4-Band Parametric Tube Equalizer, also an Outlaw Audio ICBM-1 Analog Bass Management. (not in list below) During the past 8 years I gone through lots of equipment making trade-offs to get what sound I like at a price I can afford. *** existing equipment AV-Receivers Denon AVR 3803CI *** Denon AVR-3803 Denon AVR-4802 Denon AVR-5803 Onkyo TX-SR805 Pioneer VSX-D811S Pioneer VSX-1014TX Pioneer VSX-1015TX Pioneer Elite VSX-74TXVi Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi Yamaha HTR-5790 Pre/Pro's and Amps Rotel RSP-1068 pre/pro Rotel RMB-1075 5ch 125 watts per Rotel RB-985MKII 5ch 105 watts per Rotel RB-993 3ch 200 watts per/ch Rotel RMB-1080 200 watts per/ch Rotel RB-990BX 200 watts per/ch Rotel RB-991 200 watts per/ch Rotel RB-993 200 watts per/ch 3ch Rotel RMB-1050 50 watts per/ch AMC 2100 100 watts/ch Speakers Klipsch RF-7 Klipsch RF-5 Wharfedale Emerald 97 Wharfedale SP88 Blue Ess AMT 1 Monitors Ess PS-820*** Ess PS8H Homemade, AMT full Heil, RS225S-8" *** STREEM RW-440 Bipole Surround *** Blu-ray & HD-DVD Sony Ps3 Samsung BD-UP5000 *** Samsung BD-p1400 Toshiba HD-A2 Toshiba HD-XA2 DVD players Oppo DV-983H x2 Oppo DV-981HD Oppo DV-980HD Oppo DV-970HD x2*** Oppo DV-971H Kenwood Sovereign DV-5900M Zenith DVB318 Pioneer Elite DV-47AVi Pioneer Elite DV-59AVi Pioneer DV-563A Pioneer DV-578A-S Pioneer DV-588A-S Yamaha S-1500 Projectors Sony Cineza Hs3 ¼ HD Sony Cineza Hs-10 Sanyo PLV-Z5 720p Sanyo PLV-Z2000 1080p *** HDTV CRT – Rear Projectors – Flat panels Olevia LCD H337 37" 720p Visio Plasma Vp 422 42" 720p*** Toshiba 42" 42HDX82 Sony Wega KV-30HS420 30" Sub-woofers Elemental Designs A2-300 x2*** HSU VTF-2 MKII HSU VTF-2 HSU VTF-3 HSU STF-2 Infinity BU-2 |
