I have my HT in the basement and being with all the concrete bass dosent spread well so I placed my sub behind the couch and to me the bass sounds even. Was this an ideal choice or are there better options? I have a 7.1 set up and my fronts are floor standing And pretty bassy on there own.

+1...and if you are unsure, you could get an SPL meter and try to dial it in to get your sub to play evenly with your speakers, preventing one from dominating the other.

To the OP...I have my HT is my basement with cement walls, and all I can say is to perhaps try the sub crawl technique to find the best spot. Here is Big Daddy's sticky on bass management, that includes how to perform the sub crawl.... A Guide To Bass Management |
