Default Sony BDP-S300 - Profile 2.0?

I have a Sony BDP-S300 player.

Initially, It doesn't have BD-Live or a ethernet port. Is there a way to modifiy/upgrade it so that BD-Live and hardware changes can be added?

I would upgrade to a player with Profile 2.0 but money is a bit tight right now so modifing, if possible, is the next best option.

It is a 2nd hand player that I got from ebay for £75 so there is no warranty and I have had for well over a year now.

So I should just keep using it until it commits 'elctro-suicide' then? If I do that, hopefully, I should have some money by the time it dies.

PS: Forums admins, we totally need sarcasm tags. . 'Just sayin'.

This player is profile 1.0 only (ie cannot display bonus view content) and no firmware will EVER upgrade this!

Guess I need to do some saving them. Can you recommend a good Profile 2.0 player that has a better loading time than my Sony BDP-S300?

I've got a US Sony BDP-S360 which is pretty good (if you can find a UK one they are reasonably cheap) or wait for the new BDP-S370. I've also got a UK Panasonic DMP-BD80 - but that's quite a bit more expensive.

The Sony BDP-S350 (which can be had without too much expense) should be able to meet your needs -- plus, it has faster load times than the S300!

It doesn't HAVE to be a Sony player you know.

Any other good quality player would be just as good.
