Default A Way to Extend Cables??

A way to extend cables.... Im interested in a Home Theater, according to the info i found: The rear speaker cables have 360 inches, the front has 120 inches and the center has 72 inches. That's to short to get to the places where i want to have them, is there way to make the wires longer or get longer ones? im getting the Sony HT-SS360. Please Help

just buy new speaker wire and run it, now if it's a special connection for the HTIB for the speakers cut and add in the new wire solder the wire together and get wire joiners from your local store, they are usually sold in the automotive department.

This system does indeed feature speaker terminals which are not the normal post style that you see on typical A/V receivers:

You could probably get the male connectors for those on eBay, and I'm sure other places. You'd then need to manually add the wire yourself, which would allow you to define your own lengths — as opposed to using the prefab lengths out of the box. That of course would be fairly difficult, so to really do this in a way that makes sense, you might just go with butt connectors or simply adding length by way of soldering; I believe Twitch9 made a similar suggestion.

An alternative to that is to look for an HTiB that has a more standard terminal. I try not to offer suggestions like that, though, because I know you want the one you mentioned in this thread. This HTiB looks pretty nice, too.

thanks for your help, i dont know anything about extending the wires by doing it myself and its too complicated for me. Is there any website where i could order them for this Home Theater, the length that i want and theyll just make them for me?

I couldn't tell you for sure if someone could do that for you. It sounds like a pretty custom job, and probably pricey to have someone do for you. Have you reconsidered going with butt connectors? They really are quite easy to do: cut wire, strip wire, add butt connector, crimp butt connector. Repeat as necessary. It really is pretty easy. Butt connectors are pennies each, and a nice wire cutter with crimp should be less than $10.
