Problem with UK POTC 2 and non-updated Samsung BD-P1000 - fixed - Blu-ray Forum

I don't know if this is a problem with the disc or my set up.
I have 42" Samsung Plasma & Samsung BD-P1000 player linked with HDMI cable. (The TV only supports 1080i)
I bought POTC 2 2 disc Blu Ray, Disc 1 came up with the message "This disc cannot be played" Disc 2 plays fine.
It is a UK release all region disc.
I've not had this problem with any other discs

Anyone else have this problem with this movie?

Have you updated the player with the latest firmware from Samsung's website?

There are no updates showing on the Samsung UK website, the only updates I have found are USA & Canada only.
I'm worried if I use this update it will make my player region A, may cause problems & I will not be able to play my region B discs

Ok so I contacted Samsung in the UK & have updated my firmware to 1.0 which is the only update available to the UK & the disc still won't play.
I'm presuming it must be a disc problem now rather than the player.

OK so I thought I'd update my firmware with the version 1.2 which is listed as US & Canada only & try it again,the disc now plays.

So Samsung, the UK & Europe update version 1.0 does not fix the problem get busy & sort this out !!
