Default What movies are better in blu than hddvd for PQ?

Does anyone know if any blurays got a superior transfer PQ wise than their hddvd counterparts? Any reviews I've read either wont say or say its identical. Im just curious as I have almost 100 hddvds (all bought this year),and I am a weirdo video geek that likes to do comparisons. Also let me know if any opposite examples exist.
One more of interest to me would be blu vs hddvd vs dtheater. Thanks in advance.

The differences, if there are any, are pretty minimal. Most of the differences and benefits come with audio. A lot of HD-DVD's that were only DD+ are now DTS-HD on BD.

Hot Fuzz and Miami Vice are both improved in PQ, and audio. The Bourne movies all are superior to their HD DVD's. Alot of Paramount and Warner early releases are better on HD DVD because the HD DVD's used VC-1 where the Blu's were MPEG2.

For PQ purposes, there isn't many HD-DVDs that are better than Blus to my knowledge.

I would argue that Army of Darkness is better for PQ on HD-DVD due to less edge enhancement.

However, more BDs have the lossless audio tracks, and this is where the real winner will come from.

Probably quicker to list the HD DVD releases that offered something the BD release doesn't.

There are a handful of WB HD DVD releases that offered lossless, or slightly improved, audio where the BD release doesn't. Blood Diamond had an IME track that was omitted on the BD. A few of the VC-1/MPEG-4 AVC versus MPEG-2 releases show improvements (some subtle/minor, some more noticeable).

There are a handful of 1.5 Mbps versus 640 kbps releases. Some that offered improvement, some that didn't (only listing the ones I found a review mentioning a slight improvement).

The vast majority of Universal titles that have been released on BD have either been equal or better but there are a couple (might literally be a couple) where the HD DVD release offers something the BD doesn't (not sure of which titles other than The Thing and I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry though).

Aeon Flux (VC-1 v MPEG-2)
Ant Bully, The (TrueHD)
Babel (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Black Snake Moan (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Blood Diamond (IME)
Coming to America (Slightly improved PQ.. minor)
District B13 (VC-1 v MPEG-2)
Dreamgirls (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room (DTS-HD 5.1 3.0 Mbps)
Flags of Our Fathers (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Fountain, The (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Four Brothers (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Freedom Writers (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Good Night, and Good Luck (VC-1 v MPEG-2.. minor)
Happy Feet (TrueHD)
I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (Extras)
Italian Job, The (VC-1 v MPEG-2.. minor)
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (VC-1 v MPEG-2.. minor)
Lady in the Water (TrueHD)
Lost City, The (VC-1 v MPEG-2.. very minor)
Mission: Impossible II (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Mission: Impossible III (IME & 1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Nip/Tuck: The Complete Fourth Season (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Norbit (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
One Last Thing... (VC-1 v MPEG-2 & 1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Payback (AVC MPEG-4 v MPEG-2, very minor, & 1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Phantom of the Opera, The (TrueHD)
Reds (VC-1 v MPEG-2)
Rumor Has It (VC-1 v MPEG-2)
Sahara (VC-1 v MPEG-2)
Shooter (1.5 Mbps v 640 kbps)
Thing, The (Extras)
Training Day (VC-1 v MPEG-2 & TrueHD)
Wicker Man, The (TrueHD)
World Trade Center (VC-1 v MPEG-2..very minor)

Actually, Warner was lazy with HD DVD production. If the HD DVD had a Blu-ray Disc counterpart, they both shared the same 640kbs track. Warner never utilized the full 1.5mbs bit-rate for Dolby Digital Plus. It was easier for them make one 640kbs master and encode that for both BD's Dolby Digtal & HD DVD's Dolby Digital Plus

American Gangster comes with the extended edition in Blu-ray. The HD DVD version used a combo disk: regular edition on the HD side and the Extended Version on the DVD side. 30GB was not enough.
