Default Calling Ed Wood Fans!

Just five days remain on this Kickstarter campaign:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...n-3-d-blu-ray/

Check out update #9 for a lost 3-D short with Ed's gal, Dolores Fuller!

And remember, you will not need any special equipment to see this Blu-ray in 3-D. Our new Compatible 3-D process can be shown on any player and display!

Bob, is this new "compatible" process something that could be retrofitted to previously released 3-D Blu-ray discs?

Many of us have bought various 3-D discs, although we don't have 3-D playback equipment and must watch the films in the default to 2-D.

Absolutely. It would mean creating a new master and burning new discs but it could be done to any 3-D film that we have restored thus far.

I know that I'd buy those titles again to be able to view them properly, rather than having to settle for the 2-D default.

I'd also be more likely to purchase some other 3-D releases that I passed on the first time around, due to lesser interest in those particular films.

I'll bet that I'm not the only customer who feels that way.

As I mentioned in yesterday's update, the original left/right elements for COLLEGE CAPERS were destroyed in the 1970s. All that survives today is a very faded anaglyphic release print from 1953. Here's an example of the restoration work that we've been able to do on this severely compromised element.

This is the original raw scan compared to our new restoration.

Here is the same image in discrete 3-D, presented in both parallel and cross-eyed versions.

I backed Dynasty and I'm backing this one too. I'll also back Treasure of the Four Crowns when that comes up if there's a kickstarter for that. 3D Film Archive is knocking all sorts of films off my wish list. I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into these restorations, many thanks.

Any chance we get another volume of 3D rarities? I love those.

Thank you!

I don’t see another dedicated Rarities release but rest assured, future films that we control will always have bonus shorts included!
