Australia 1080/24p and DVD Upscaling.

Hey folks. Just recently purchased a Panasonic DMP BD35. On the whole i have been very pleased with the discs i have purchased and how they look on the player. My question is: when you set the player to 1080/24p, does this affect the dvd upscaling? Sorry if it's a dumb question. I'm new to this and thought i'd ask rather than trawling thru the million old posts.
Cheers,
Carcuss.
