Default Sony BDP-300 for $89 Shipped

Sony has their BDP-300 Refurbished Blu-Ray player for only $89 with free shipping. Great 2nd player, I just ordered one to replace the Sharp I had in the bedroom.

Use coupon: SONYTWITTDEALS60BDP to get this price

Go here to order: http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...d%3d.&mode=add

nice price for a great secondary unit.

ive owned this model, and as a forewarning, id like to mention that, albeit its slow loading time, it STILL is a solid, basic unit. dont let the load time devoid you from purchasing this as it can hold its own.

remember, for 89 clams, you get a unit that has multichannel outputs.

This was my first player and I still use it in another room. It is a great secondary player. Like jomari said do not let the load times bother you. It is build pretty solid for a entry level player.

The price is deceptive - I have one. It's actually more expensive than that, once you take up smoking as a hobby waiting for it to load. One of my discs took 9 minutes!

With the newest firmware version of 5.0, there are new blu-ray discs that this machine can't not play, and completely shut down ...

Where did you find 5.0 at? It isn't even out yet?

4.9 came out a while back, but apparently theyve been shipping out the 5.0 disc in replacement of it.

dunno why, but it still works.

prior to that my previous firmware stood at 3.9 without any challenges whatsoever.

again, dont let the load times fool you. heck for 89 bucks you should already have known that, and considering that it plays blu-rays for that price tag, you can either call it a win or a loss. heck turn it on, load a disc, grab a drink or what not, then head on back.

your perception will always affect your satisfaction.

The 300 does NOT have multichannel audio outs.

It certainly does have it, only it will not put through DD TrueHD or DTS-HD MA through the analogues. It does do PCM though, but not many titles have those tracks unfortunetaly. If you really want HD sound, do buy another unit which does decode these codecs through analogue like the Sony BDP-S550 or another brand (can't think of any specific ones right now).

the sony website shows it has more in stock now for those interested. about applying the code, well, i havent really tried it so let us know if it still works.

quick reminder, dont let the load time disappoint. at this price point, i think you do get what you pay for. a solid blu-ray player without the bells and the whistles.

the lemon factor tho, well, its a roll of the dice if i may say so myself.

So if this does not decode a dd true-hd / DTS-hd MA would it be better then just to use the digital for regular DD / DTS? What benefit could we derive from that analog output?
