Default Sony BDP 300

Just went to the Futureshop website to check on how sales are for the new sony BD addition. And I noticed that the rating was posted at 3/5. I figure that this is due to Hd DUD fanbois rating this player poorly in a pathetic attempt to hinder the sales of Blu-ray players. Am I crazy?

Here's the link. I already rated the player 5/5. However, there is 459 votes as of now.

That is the problem when any one can rate on something that they don't own.

does seem suspicious it already has 460 customer ratings for only being available recently, and no written reviews are negative. by comparison Toshiba's cheapy player, which has been availbale for quite a while, has 769 ratings (not even twice as much). keep an eye on it.

as someone who shops future shop often, i can say i've always been under the impression FS is HD-DVD biased. they seem to double/triple up HD-DVD stock to make it take more shelf space and therefore appear to be more popular (but if you actually count variety of titles you get a different story). i've also never seen a BD display at FS setup properly, you can easily find HD-DVD properly hooked up to 1080p TVs via HDMI, but BD displays are always on smaller 720p TVs, as far as i've seen.

won't be doing that, still a good store with decent prices. i'm sure their official stance is neutral, i just think the staff are mostly misinformed reagrding HD formats.

i think you're right, Blu-Balls. it went from 459 to 492 votes in 1 hour, and dropped to 2.68 rating. i highly doubt 33+ dissatisfied customers have bought one in the last hour.
some of these HD-DVD fanbois are sure poor losers, eh?
