You should always keep in mind that small vendors do sell imported movies. Remember what happened with the finnish T2. These days anyone can set up a quite professional looking online-store. It really doesn't guarantee anything.

Quite a few steelbooks can be in Scandinavian online-stores. Some mention that they are imported some don't. I wouldn't get my hopes too high. Polish online-stores may have very well adopted this marketing "sham".

However, the first site seems to a distributors site. Crappy site, but maybe it's legit. I would still put some weight to the fact that Play.com claims to have a exclusive rights to sell the steelbook.

Yeah, but Imperial-Cinepix is an official distributor for T4 in Poland. All previous limited steelbook DVDs released here by Imperial were printed in Polish, so I guess this BD steel will be unique in that matter as well.

I actually don't like them much, cause they give unnaturally high prices on their BDs, and for exchange they provide low quality of their releases. For example, a while ago every european Amazon and stores like DVD.co.uk or Fnac.com had the discount on what I consider to be the very first wave of BDs (I Robot, T1, Little Miss Sunshine, Run Lola Run, etc.) - discounts were like '2 for 18 GBP', or 'buy 3 at the price of 2', so that the cost of one BD was sth like 9-10 GBP. Polish Imperial on the other hand, after a lot of requests and complaints decided to give THEIR discount on exactly the same BDs (not even reprinted as Polish editions) - buy 2 for ~40 GBP (so ~20 GBP each), get the third one for ~10 GBP. Ridiculous, isn't it?:/ Plus they have their weird policy if stripping some BDs from the special features disc, like they did on Iron Man, or the special features from the movie disc, for the reason unknown... But T4 Steel is announced as 2 disc edition so we don't have to worry about that one.

Whenever it's released, sure. Up 'till now all BDs from Imperial were released with the English audio track in TrueHD/DTS-HD (depending on the original release). Polish V.O. track (V.O. is the dumbest idea ever IMO...), plus English and Polish subs are already confirmed. What else is going to be included is yet to be determined.

I was going through the Imperial website looking for some new info on the Terminator 4 release, and here's what I found:

http://www.imperial-cinepix.com.pl/p...anie-specjalne

It is the exclusive DVD edition, it's going to be in Steelbook too. However the artwork differs from the English DVD SB (which is using the same artwork as the BD SB). Polish BD SB edition still doesn't have the artwork revealed, but I assume it might be similar to DVD SB, if not the same. If so... I pity the OCDs I'll call Imperial on Monday and try to get some more info.

Yes. Imperial is the official distributor, not a shop - they decide what will and what will not be released, they don't retail. If they put an info about SB BD on their website and it's not erased by now, they will release it for sure.

The real question is, is it going to be the same case as in the UK? To be honest I don't think so - we don't have any rating logos on our releases and I don't think that's going change (that is = will be determined by law). I don't think Imperial would import cases with foreign rating up front and foreign description in the back - they put far too much effort to manufacture local editions of the covers and put extra audio track with Polish V.O. on feature discs. I'm not sure, but I assume they would like to put Polish description on the back of SB. At this point all regular-case releases have it (and by all I mean from all distributors, not only Imperial) and all DVD steelbooks released in Poland that I've seen had it.

So, to sum up, I think (and hope actually) it will be an "independent" SB, regardless of the artwork used. And I hope they will release more movies in SBs here

Thank you for the heads up on this.

I would like to make a point though.

Play.com has exclusive rights, but only in the UK and area. The same thing happens here in Canada. FutureShop widely states exclusivity on a steelbook, but that will only apply in Canada. The same steelbook, on many occasions and definately not all, can be had in another country.

A perfect example of this was the first 6 Bond Blu-Ray steelbooks. Each one of them had an "Exclusive to FutureShop" sticker on it, but id you went to the US, the same 6 steelbooks were offered with an "Exclusive to BestBuy" sticker on them.

I gues the point is to be careful

Cheers
CrashKelly
