I've used it to successfully play mounted .iso files, and various other files.... If you need to play .mp4 try VLC player, it plays darn near everything, and it's free... it also supports 5.1.

Watch out. Your thread may disapear without warning even though you are not discussing how to remove BD protection.

I would use ISO for PowerDVD, or M2TS. PowerDVD was made to play discs really so I wouldn't expect to play a file. ISO works since it is a virtual disc, M2TS since that is the type of file on Blu-ray discs, or VOB which are on DVDs.

If you want to stick with the MP4 file use VLC or MPC-HC. I prefer MPC.

AnyDVD is legal (sort of) because the company that makes it, SlySoft, is in a country that allows the removal of BD and DVD protection. Thus is can be sold to anyone, no matter the laws in that country (like here in the US it's illegal). It's a loophole that allows anyone to obtain it. But the use of it is illegal in countries that say so. Just removing the protection, even just to backup your copy that you bought is illegal. I don't agree with that.

Usually any discussion about using/playing movies that were burned off a protected disc are closed. Understandable, but the mods could be a bit more active and at least issue a warning or reason rather than hiding in the background waiting to delete threads or ban members.

I prefer MPHC works like a charm for any and almost anything and on the rare occasion that it doesn't there is always VLC

PowerDVD 9 will play m2ts files ripped from BDs. However, it only has very limited audio support when playing the files (i.e. no DTS support).
