Default Likelihood of Blu-ray losing?

Hello,

I would just like to start off by saying I own a PS3, and am a new blu-ray enthusiast.

I have recently become concerned over the ps3 price drop situation (scam aspects of it for instance). And if you don't believe it's true, it has been confirmed by IGN which is usually very reliable. Also, the price of HD-DVD players is already at $299, and will definitely go lower in the holidays. It is concerning me that most consumers will just shop based on price, and since hd-dvd is so much cheaper, blu-ray may lose its current advantage.

What do the rest of you think about the probability of this happening?

I really hope blu-ray does win, and I thought it would after the blockbuster announcement. I just laid out $500 for the ps3 so I definitely do not want that to go to waste.

Please state your thoughts and opinions...
