Default So, the movie battle intensifies !!!

It should be quite interesting, now through the end of holiday's, who'll be supreme in movie offerings, since the Players are pretty much on the same playing field (price point), and as many have said here "Content is King". It also appears that other Blu-Ray player manufacturers are going to introduce the dual-format player during the holiday season. I look forward at CEDIA to see just how many will take this approach. Interesting, huh ? [Jim]

Well for right now at least in movie offerings BD holds a fairly good edge. But you're right, I think they're saving something special for the holidays.

I seriously don't think the Simpsons movie is going to be the megabucks everyone thinks it will be. Simpsons, while still having a fine following just isn't there with the kids that much any more for example

Since the Simpsons has been on for more than 10 years those kids that started watching are the ones who now are old enought o buy BD players when they realize it will only be on BD.

The Simpsons is almost 20 years old now, and the ratings keep going down.

They're hoping the movie will hook the kids on it.

Honestly, I'm praying they do 20 years and then stop. It's time to stop cause there's only 3-4 eps a season that are good anymore. No one can keep a show fresh for 500 eps

I used to enjoy watching the old episodes but I no longer find the new episodes as entertaining. Somehow they lost their touch. I think is all the changes the characters went though that made the show turn bad.

It doesn't sound like you are a fan. I personally am looking forward to The Simpson Movie. I think it will be great.

Unfortunately, I think I remember someone (maybe Matt Groening) saying a long time ago that they did not want to do a movie because it would likely be the end of the show.

I hope the movie does well and brings the show back bigger than ever.

I loved the show when I was a kid and it first started, but lost interest a long time ago, I couldn't tell you the last time I watched an episode.

I think they have definitely lost something in recent years and I don't watch new ones really. However I honestly think that someone who was NEVER a fan has some serious humor issues.

you know its funny.... i mean film production companies, now more than ever...especially universal (since they're backed into a corner)... have way more at stake with each movie they choose to produce. because not only are they relying on box office receipts for the financial sustainance of their company ... but now the hd format war is weighing in and is causing the heads to evaluate the box office afterlife of their films that, over time, will dictate where their company is heading in the future.

universal has an awesome resume. but disney, fox and sony, in my opinion, are blu's main contenders with more impressive resumes. this isn't a tag team match, its a 3 on 1 royal rumble. its the ultimate warrior, hulk hogan and andre the giant vs king kong bundy (today's wrestling is trash. bring back the 80's )

How does HD-DVD survive in this market when you can only get these titles on wait for it.

Blu Ray only

1. Casino Royal and eventually all the bonds
2. Spider Man 1,2,3 (soon)
3. Black Hawk Down
4. The Rock
5.Platoon (eventually)
6. Das Boot (eventually)
7. 24 Seasons (eventually)
8. Spirited Away (eventually)
9. Princess Mononoke (eventually)
10. Sin City Blu Ray? eventually
11. Die Hards 1,2,3,4
12. Alien 1,2,3,4
13. Simpsons movie and Seasons
14. Speed
15. Fargo

and oh yeh last but certinally not least all the Disney Movies

I hope a sales person would tell a person this be for he/she buys a HD DVD player, just to warn them.

This list is total proof that Blu-ray has the real killer exclusives.

As far as the Simpsons go, I haven't liked it in about ten years. And I was like 9 then. I pray to God the movie ends the show once and for all.

I haven't watched the show for years, but not because I don't like it, but because I buy everything on disc nowadays. Watching stuff on television is a thing of the past for me, even with Tivo. I have always been a fan of the Simpsons and have watched them since they were on the Tracy Ulman show.

Well, 3 out of 4 of our boys are looking forward to that movie. The fourth is only 2 and a half years old

And yes, I can't wait to see it either

i was never a fan of simpsons simply cause it was sad seen a lot of eps but basically because nothing was on at 6 when you come home from playing. I loved South Park and still do and family guy. Now south park's my kind of humour . Simpsons admit it or not is for lil kids no offence to anyone
