Battle Royale was my very first EVER purchase on Ebay. I had to send a money order to Japan (or america, so long ago now). Loved every second of it. Hope a BD comes out with a great transfer.

There IS a blu-ray out there. It has both films on one disc. I noticed it a few weeks ago in an anime/comic/pokemon type shop, it's on Ebay too. My guess is that it's a bootleg, but it's a fairly well distributed bootleg. If it had been 20 bucks, I woulda just picked it up to geek out on-But at $35, I wanna read a review first.

Well, yeah. I was aware of the illegitimate one.. you can get the Battle Royale I + II double-pack on blu-ray for $20. I don't really like the idea of buying some Thai basement production, though.

I was really hoping that an official Region A release might be on the horizon somewhere.

Your best bet is waiting until Palisades Tartan does a UK release. That's your best bet for getting a copy with English subtitles.
