Mission: Impossible - Cerebral, heavy thinking film from Brian De Palma that will have you saying "Say wut!" outloud in a Stewie Griffin voice when the climax hits.
Mission: Impossible 2 - As per the filmmakers (paraphrased): We wanted a lot of action sequences so we wrote a story to go fit around those. In other words, far less cerebral then the first film but not big on strong story or major teamwork. Mission: Impossible III - The closest any filmmaker has gotten to the original Mission: Impossible formula with a team in place for a majority of the missions. Albeit, like the first two, this is mainly a Tom Cruise pornocopia with the story mainly focusing on his character. For reference: the original formula was a covert team of spies and intelligence officers working for the Impossible Mission Force. M:I and M: I 2 ditched that for Ethan Hunt to be the primary focus albeit a team still kinda plays in the both films, they are not the major focus. M:I 3 returns to the original concept and lets the audience focus on the individual team member's skills but again, it ends up shifiting focus back to Cruise. There are not films to compare them to since each film has their own unique style. If you don't like Bond then you will more than likely not enjoy these films as they deal with espionage, covert operatons, spying, undercover work, disguises, and gadgets. Really cool gadgets like explosive bubblegum, video cameras hidden eyeglass frames, and video playback devices disguised as sunglasses & a disposable camera. There are more of course. |

Go for it! This is a great trilogy. All 3 movies are good, with the 2nd being the weakest link of the 3. Although he, J.J. Abrams, has produced and directed TV shows, Mission Impossible 3 was the first movie he directed, the 2nd being Star Trek. I highly recommend you buy all 3!

I bought mine for more then that. That is less then $15 a movie and a good buy. On the other hand, you may find it cheaper at Christmas time. how bad do you want it?

I LOVE all 3 movies (1 and 3 equally and 2 a little less) but rememeber NONE of them have lossless audio. I was unaware of that when making my purchase but still worth owning, esp if your a Cruise fan.

I really like the first and third movies, the first being the best. The second one is pretty bad IMO. I would recommend them as they are good films but I've yet to buy this series as I read the PQ for the first was not good. Anyone want to dispute that?
