Default PS3 printer?

According to my PS3 system settings, I can print stuff. How do I go about doing this. Do I just plug in a basic printer via USB or is there another way? Also what's the best printer to buy. I'm not going to be printing constantly, but I will be using it to print of coupons from this site. So I don't need anything high-tech. Thanks in advance.

I looked into this once thinking I could connect it to my network or something, but I think only a few printers are compatible.

can anybody on here help me out and advice me which one I should buy for just basic printing. Also would I need a computer for this? I only have access to the internet via my PS3 at the moment.

i cant really give you advice on which one to pick, if you arent looking for anything special, id just pick one of the cheaper epsons and go with it, but you wont need a PC or anything to print, the PS3 will serve as your "computer" in this case

To be honest i'm really surprised sony hasn't found a way to let you find printer's on your network and use them that way

I guess in the bigger scheme of things it doesn't really matter.. it appears extremely rare that anyone uses the printer functionality in the first place.

i never tried to print from my PS3, i just assumed thats what the printer function on the XMB meant, i didnt realize it was actually for a printer you plug into the PS3

True and getting drivers from every printer company for every printer in existence could be a little challenging.. Sony does not have anything to offer this printer company's to make them support the ps3.

Obviously they ran a deal with epson but really its up to the printer companies.

I haven't used it but printing over a network [Other (Network Standard)] is possible too.

I'm blocked at work so I can't view that, but I know I investigated it a bit because I have a wireless printer, and I wasn't able to get it set up. Despite being able to set it up through Other (Network Standard) doesn't the printer have to be one on the list?
