The one closest to me is the opposite, they have 2 shelves for HD-DVD and one for Blu. They do have a Blu endcap and two Blu demo stations though, only one demo station and no endcap for HD-DVD.

Personally that means nothing until they lower their prices to be more competitive.

Best Buy near my place definitely has more Blu-ray shelf space. They also have a promo going where several Blu-ray and HD DVD titles are $19.99...

Just at Best Buy today. Prices DEFINITELY need to be more competitive (Best Buy hardly ever is anymore). I did notice, however, that any of their high definition disc-based displays that they set up in the store that aren't the official Blu-ray displays are Blu-ray, with one display, in the back room of Magnolia, playing Planet Earth on HD DVD (and it looked like crap). I got a little thrill out of that. My g/f thinks I'm a big nerd because when we were walking by the BD aisle, I saw a guy with a new player and some movies in his cart, so I had to swing back by the aisle to see what he was buying. Always makes me happy to see someone buying a BD player.

Same here, they have way more HD DVD than Blue Ray, also only one BD demo and three HD DVD displays

Best Buy matches any price, so it doesn't really matter what the price tag at Best Buy is. If you tell them that you've seen a BD cheaper somewhere else you will get it for the same price (of course they will check if it is true)
So no problem there.

Best Buy is plenty competetive when it comes to B&M stores.

The economies of what it takes to maintain a store and a website are radically different

All 4 Best Buys by my house have about 4 shelves of Blu-rays and 4 shelves of HD-DVD right next to one another. Pretty big shelves as well.

What's the difference? There's an additional 3 shelves for Blu-ray in the back of the store

Maybe in your area. In my area they are the same prices as CC, which is higher as well and more than Wal-Mart. As far as B&M goes the cheapest I can find is at Wal-mart, and unfortunately that is only with new releases. BB and CC are 25% or more higher than Wal-mart.

yeah same for the BB near me, 'cept it's like 4 additional shelves. Plus there are only ~ 1/2 as many copies of each title (if they're not sold out) compared to HDDVD, stock is selling fast.
