Default Plasma's: How hot and how noisey?

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a Panny V10-50 inch, although LCD/LED is not out yet. My two main concerns:

1. heat generated(I have a 10ftx11ft room)

2. fan noise generated(again I have a small room, so fan noise may be that much easier to hear, especially during low passages in a movie?)

I dont know about panasonice plasmas but I can only feel heat coming from mine when I'm about a foot away and there is no noise coming from the actual display.

the V10's are great displays. You shouldnt have any heat or fan noise problems with it!

That's exactly right, V10's don't have any known problems, should be a good buy.

Great questions, Out of the two Panasonic plasma I own only the older one generates heat. Fan noise is never an issue as the only time I realize I have them is when I move the TV's for cleaning. The S1 is always cool to touch. So get off your butt and buy that V10 already

You can feel a small amount of heat if your face is 3" from the screen. You can probably hear the fans if your ear is 1/4" from them.

Beyond that, no worries. Buy it. You'll have zero regrets.

I have heating issues from other equipment I run, not from my Panny. I only really notice the heat is if I have to mess with something behind the TV. As far as fan noise, not an issue at all. I can barely hear it when there is no audio coming from the TV when I accidentally leave it on.

v10 is nice but is very pricey, consider no price drop since it release. all other plasma did drop alot, right now the 50b650 is best value for $1100 with free blu-ray playar in amazonm has pq rival all those led tv except the local dimmed one. noise could be issue but only notice when you see very close or turn on very low volume. if you had sorround speaker those noise is not a issue, as for heat issue isn't samsung or panasonic problem, lg plasma are know for seriously heat issue especially for wall mount.

Nice job smart guy... I have more 9G kuro's then Pioneer does. Look/think before u throw my name around. I was being sarcastic with "victomsofadown". and oh ya plasmas just about all that I have seen (9G Kuro if that's what u have) do have fans but they just about never come on. Look at the vents on the top back of the display there are fans in there.... Peace....

I vote Blu-ray.com instates some form of up-rank function so I can kind of high-five people who say things I agree with

Pannys have both. I'll take that over just heat sinks any day. Fans are only a hindrance in high-end audio, where sonic purity does not allow for even the best fan. Heat sinks alone are necessary there, but it doesn't change that fact that fans are a superior means of evacuating heat.
