Question What the hell happened to the studio listing?

A few days ago, when browsing one could easily access all releases from the major US studios, ( 20th Century Fox, Disney / Buena Vista, DreamWorks, Lionsgate Films, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, New Line Cinema, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., Weinstein Company) but also unscroll a listing of all the other distributors, from Summit Entertainment, to StudioCanal, to Mei Ah, to Yash Raj Films, etc... Where the hell has this full listing gone?

I'm not 100% sure where you are exactly referring to, but I know if you click on Movies at the top of the forum and Search Movies on the left frame, you can select the exact studio you're looking for, click search, and it will show all of that studio's movies.

Does this help at all?

Are you talking about the main page, where you see news and releases from different studios.

If so just go to this link: http://www.bluray.com

Otherwise, I am as confused as Suss.

I'm referring to the "By studio" listing on the left frame in the "Movies" section (the same place where your "Search movies" option is). there used to be a full listing of every studio, now there's only the 11 major US ones...

The OP is right. You can't view titles by all the studios like before.

I'm sure it will be fixed.

Good evening,

I believe that after some of the recent updates the option might have been affected by a bug of some sort. Please be patient. The developers will look into it on Monday.

Earlier today, it was also brought to our attention that the link at the very bottom of each reviewer's profile -- Search for all of...reviews -- has also been affected.

So, again, please be patient

Pro-B

In short, the amount of studios has grown a lot and it was getting too big for the actual menu. However, we'll fix this by adding a new studio-list feature that is more comprehensive on Monday. In the mean time, use the Search Movies and Search Reviews pages to find titles from specific movies

Thumbs up

Thanks for the answer... As for "jwbbud", one of the reasons I sometimes use this way to search for movies is for "non-US" studios who get reviews here for some releases not all. For example, I see a good review for a Chinese film by a Chinese distributor so I go see what other films that studio has put out. If some other releases have been reviewed, and positively, I assume that the studio generally puts out quality product and check those movies as possible buying options.

I can also use it to search for a paritcular distributor I've heard of but don't know anything about (for example yesterday it was Taiwanese studio Pony).

ok...well you can search by reviewer as well(I dont know if you want user reviews or site reviews)
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/searc...search=reviews

I believe and not entirely sure but Svet does the foreign films so you can easily narrow the search that way or use the 'studio' drop down menu. Each person uses the site differently and with the information and flare all I could do was guess what you meant

Everyone that answered was only trying to help you.

Here's another tip, when you're viewing a specific title (any title) you can always click the distributor/studio-name listed under the movie-title to get a list of their other releases. Should work for what you're trying to do as well

Wink

Thanks Marwin, is that a new feature? I remember having tried that at one point to no avail.

Jwbbud, I understand that. I hope no one felt I was attacking them. I was feeling frustration towards a problem on the site, not towards people answering me.

Nope, it has been like that for a long time.

Anyway, I just put the new studio list feature online at Blu-ray Studios (or click "Show all studios" on the left-side menu). Check it out and let me know what you think
