Default Need help please! (connecting two components via HDMI to Monitor)

ITEMS INVOLVED:

1 - Acer 24" HDTV 1080P LCD Monitor
1 - Playstation 3 Slim
1 - Upconverting Philips Divx Player (DVP-5990) (for my foreign dvds)

==========

So I have my monitor as a TV. I don't own a TV, so there's no option to simply use that.

The monitor has two HDMI ports (and zero red/white/yellow/blue/green plugs), and I have one going to the PS3 and one going to the DVD player.

However the only thing that will show up is the PS3 which has been connected to it for awhile.

I can't get my new dvd player to be recongized by the monitor.

I've tried all of the following.

(both plugged in at the same time) just turning off the PS3 while having the Divx player running. No Dice.

Unplugging the HDMI cable from the PS3 leaving the DVD Player as the only thing plugged in. Still nothing.

Turned the monitor off (after unplugging the PS3) and then turning it back on with the DVD Player on. Nothing still.

Getting kinda frustrated here. I've had this problem in the past with having my PS3 connected and using the connector cable connecting my laptop to the monitor.

What's the deal here? Why can't I have two things plugged in to HDMI when the Monitor is CLEARLY set up for that, being that there's two HDMI ports in the back?

Try changing the video from HDMI 1 to HDMI2 or HDMI2 to HDMI1.....

Well after unplugging the HDMI from the back of the PS3, I unplugged an replugged the HDMI for the DVDPLAYER from the back of the monitor and it kicked on last night.

Haven't tried today with getting them both to work.

I don't know if there's a button on the monitor menu to switch or not.

Wish this monitor had a remote. lol
