Studios and branch studios?

oka this is drivving me crazy!!!lmao
oka so i know there are studios like disney/beun vista that like prduce touch stone or ect. maybe some one could make a list of major studios and there branches? becuase i know i have a couple pof times asked if this studio releses on blu-ray to have some body inform me that there this or that studio lol

what about Columbia pictures?

Some films are initiated by small production houses. From there they either get funding from a bond completion company or from the studio that will distribute their films. If it's the former, once the film is finished, the production house will seek out a studio to distribute the film.

Whichever studio that distributes the film usually get the home video distribution deal as well.

Columbia (and Tristar) are Sony

the other two, I don't know.

appart from what Fuad said, you sometimes have other odd stuff

MGM sold off part of their collection and eventually it was bought by warner

Weinstein created movies for Disney before they became indipendent and so most of their movies are Disney except for the ones they creted in the last few years.

Speilberg movies are Universal, but has complete control over their distribution and even though Universal promised them to the HD DVD prg he removed them from the list

some movies have multiple ownership.
