Maybe it was a re-authoring issue or something. The U.S. Blu-ray doesn't have any French audio or subtitles on the disc. It does have Luc Besson's international cut which the title is in French, Ong Bak 2: La Naissance Du Dragon, but that's it.

Yeah, I couldn't find it either, so I assumed that it was just a licensing issue.

I also believe that's the reason why we didn't see Ong Bak I out on Blu on Tuesday.

PS

Why don't CND versions of blu-ray's get reviewed??

On this site it says that the CND version is 101min, when it is in fact 98 mins like the american version. What is the diffirence between these versions.

Canadian Versions are 99.9% of the time exact duplicates of the US ones. The only two I can think of are Sleeping Beauty (has a dts-hd french track, but english dropped to 16 bits), and The Wrestler

The Canadian E1 Entertainment disc is the same as the US disc.

I am having troubles playing the bluray film ONG BAK 2 on my SAMSUNG player model BD-P1600.

I don't know why out of all the foreign films I own on bluray this is the only that does not play.

When I place the disc into the player, it attempts to load but freezes and won't go any further into playing.

Please let me know if anyone is having the same problems.

If I can;t get this resolved then I will sell this bluray movie to anyone who wants it.

There's no "Director's Cut" it's most likely an error since Ong Bak 2 has both the Thai Theatrical cut and the Luc Besson Ba***rdized version of the film.

Make sure that you have the latest firmware version on your player.

I did update it and when I try to do another update it says already updated cannot go further.

I did some small research on my Samsung bluray player and it only plays "REGION A/1" dvd and bluray movies.

I did some more research on the bluray movie ONG BAK 2 and it states that its a region free bluray and has been confirmed for REGION A.

All of my other bluray movies play including the first ong bak.

So right now I am pretty fustrated with this b/c now I own a bluray movie I can't play, not only that but I can't return it because of the laws in the US about movies being completely opened.

So let me know if anyone wants this bluray movie and I will send it out.

USA Same Problem

I have the same exact problem on the same Blu-Ray player I talked with Samsung and they told me it was most likely a problem with the disk and I have had three different ones so they may have screwed something up when printing them.

If the poster above me is referring the U.S. release, which I assume by the flag; I have an Insignia Blu-ray player and my Ong Bak 2 plays fine.

Yes it is the US release.

I also have all the latest firmware updated.

Then it must be a Samsung problem or my bdp1600 since the other guy had the same problem because it is the same model as the guy that had the problem earlier. I have had three different discs two from Walmart and one form Netflix and they all did the same thing.

I just spoke with samsung pertaining this issue as i also bought the bluray and i own a samsung 1250 bluray surround and I was also having this problem with this disc. And after redoing firmware and reseting the bluray player The technical person on the phone told me that Ong bak 2 was not yet supported for samsung players . I then responded so im stuck with this bluray disc i cant watch and He replied we as a company are updating playable discs all the time.. He also informed me that there is a list they have of discs that wont play with their players.. I SURE WISH THEY COULD HAVE GAVE ME THAT LIST WHEN I BOUGHT THIS THEATER SYSTEM OR AT LEAST TOLD SOMEONE.I FEEL KINDA RIPPED OFF BY SAMSUNG RIGHT NOW.

Frankly it's not their fault. Movie studios always change how they press their disc, the standards they use etc. Only when a disc that has new standards show up can a company determine if the movie can play or not. So they have to fix the player so it can read the disc.

Even if they gave you a list, how can they assure you that future releases not on the list won't have this issue?

Technology changes, that is why firmwares are made.
