Default Blu ray + HD TV = 2 HDMI?

hello:

my current tv only has 1 hdmi port on the back and once the blu ray dvd players come out, how would it possible to have both high definition tv and a blu ray player since they both use hdmi? are tvs now going to be manufactured with two ports? thanks.

Hi

Yes, I've seen some new LCD HDTVs with 2 HDMI ports...like the Toshiba 32 WL 58 P (europe). I guess this will be standard in the very near future.

Maybe you should consider a HDMI switchbox or something like that, but they are not really cheap as of yet...:

a "switchbox" would work, i guess
but i expect the bluray player to have both input and output itself - so you can plug your tv cables in the dvd, and the dvd output to the tv. chaining things...

atleast that's gonna be the case for a bluray recorder. it wont make much sense for a simple player though, i admit. though it could still be made so.

www.geffen.com (I think that's right)

HDMI add on switchers for those into video.

Also some receivers have them like the Yamaha RX-V1600 and RX-V2600 as well as some from Denon and Pioneer.
