First off, make sure your PS3 is set to output 24p video for Blu-ray playback (over HDMI).

Regarding your LG TV, if you are referring to its motion smoothing function, you will find a mixed bag of responses here. I would be first to say turn off all motion smoothing completely, as I feel it degrades overall picture detail quality and introduces visual artifacting (although it can produce amazingly smooth motion). Turning it on also can induce what is called the "soap opera effect," whereby your film-based picture will take on a "video-like," live video look to it. Some people like that sort of look, while others (myself included) prefer the look of the original film.

In the end, there is no right or wrong setting for it. Just check out what it does for the picture, and see what you like best.

Your screen refresh rate of 240Hz is an unchangeable aspect of your TV. It will always refresh the screen at 240 times per second, regardless of the input source and motion smoothing settings.

Don't listen to what anyone tells you what to put your setting at. Try it off on high and low and pick the one YOU like the best.

this is what it says on the "displays that support 1080p/24" thread LG 47LH55 (1080P/24 correctly refreshed at 120HZ when Truemotion is off and Real Cinema is on) (60HZ sources refreshed at 240HZ)
