Default High Quality Low Cost Speakers

In your opinion, what speakers are the biggest bang for your buck?

Check out Home Theater Direct.

I would buy their stuff over Energy or Polk any day of the week. No offense.

The best values are clearly certain internet-only brands, but not everything an internet speaker brand will make is top-notch. Here are examples that come to mind that provide good value:

carolina audio is the best I have heard at reasonable prices. I love my SM3 set every day
They are on par with Quads and Fried and much nicer (for me) than my old Mirage M3, B&W DM602, Paradigm ?'s, and the Wilson Audio Watt (first generation). Let us know what you end up with.

I guess it all depends on the $ in question. The towers at home theater direct are listed at $400 a pair or $800 a pair... For that dolar range there are a TON of towers including Jamo,Polk,KEF,Energy,PSB,Klipsch,Paradigm,etc... When talking LOWEST price(around $100 for one tower) bang for the buck personally Newegg.com Polks hands down...

For the biggest bang for the buck, I invariably always recommend Monitor Audio's Bronze Reference (BR) line. The fit and finish is fantastic, and the detail and sound often outperform speakers costing hundred's more.
