Does anyone have any suggestions for a high quality spool of speaker wire at a low cost (50-100 feet) ??

Thanks.

Depends on your price limit and the equipment you use.

Look for solid core wire and what they call "6N". 6N is 99.9999% pure copper.

Some wire is stiff, too stiff and not really that manageable. It can make it hard to hide or lay it down properly. Plus the threads can be broken easier.

Also If you choose to terminate it. Get solderable connections so you make it free from oxidizing.

The offerings from Blue Jeans cable are pretty good and inexpensive. One good cable to make would be to use "Canare Quadstar 4S11". If you combine the four leads into two it will help reject noise better and have less resistance. Terminate with the connectors of your choice, but do use solderable ones.

However there are other selections as well, just hit up the Blue Jeans website and see if anything interest you. They can make the cables for you as well, cheaply.

If you want to spend a few dollars more I can give you other choices. ranging from a couple dollars a foot to $10-$20 a foot.

I was about to recommend Blue Jeans Cable. I use their Belden 10-AWG UTP on my towers and center channel, and couldn't be happier! I'm about to replace my subwoofer coaxial with one of their offerings as well. Check them out.

Of course, there are those who will undoubtedly come in here and preach Monoprice. I do use them as well, but - for your requirements, BlueJeanscable.com is the way to go.

Speaker wire doesn't have to be expensive. As long as it's protection is not fragile, you are good to go. I think anything from radioshack will do.
