Default Martin logan's or def tech mythos?

hey all, been doing some serious researching and i have come up with a few choices for my L-C-R front speakers

boston acoustics RS (Reflection series) RS334 floor speakers
and the center RS 224C, link below. you can also see the center as well at this link.

http://www.martinlogan.com/products/preface
http://www.martinlogan.com/products/encoretf

and then the Def tech Mythos One floor speakers and either the Mythos 3 or 8 center channel. link below.

http://www.definitivetech.com/Produc...Mythos%20Eight

http://www.definitivetech.com/Produc...d=Mythos%20One

any thoughts or opinions on these? there is no one close to me that has these speakers for demo. the only stores i have close by are BB and sears and neither carry these speakers. so if anyone has these let me know.

also any opinions on boston acoustics speakers??

If you don't mind silver speakers, you can buy Mythos 1 for half price. This is an exceptional opportunitly. Personally, I prefer silver to black.

Silver Mythos One, $449 + Free Shipping:

I own the Mythos ones and three and I love mine. I used to work for Magnolia Audio Video and got a killer deal on mine directly from Def Tech. We also carried the Boston line as well and I loved the sound of them too. Very subjective. You really should try and find a brick and mortar store to listen to them for yourself. I would have been happy with either brand, but chose the mythos based upon the size and more importantly the deal I got on them.

I'd go with the Mythos. Those Boston Acoustics are Mythos clones, Def Tech was the originator. After Def Tech came out with the Mythos, every other speaker company came out with a Mythos clone aka lifestyle speakers.

Stay away from AudiophileLiquidators. You will be sorry if you deal with them.

I think they sound awesome. Having two subs vice one is really nice. I know some prefer to have them separate from the other speaks, but I'm happy this way.

A question was asked above about the stability of the towers (Mythos 1s). Not sure how close they are to the STS towers, but the STS are really stable. The granite base is heavy enough to do the trick...

If you do a search, you will realize that they are not an authorized dealer for any of the products they sell. People also question if they are a legitimate business.

This is one of the posts from Audioholics forum.

Just wanted you all to know that Audiophile liquidator is trouble.

The address they list as corporate HQ is a parking garage.

They are not an authorised dealer for any items they sell.

They have the entire Tannoy line listed, and won't be able to supply it.

So, I don't think it is a good idea to give them your credit card.

Buy from your local dealers, you will be much happier in the long run.

Cheers,

Ben

Even after reading the Audioholics forum regarding Audiophile Liquidators, i took a chance anyway and ordered a Marantz PM 7001. All I was looking for was a high quality 2 channel stereo amp/preamp combo to power some Klipsch passive monitors in my studio. The price seemed to be to good to be true, and it was. I ordered the item a week ago, and the only confirmation I got was that they had charged my credit card. When I sent them an email inquiring about my order, I got info on someone else's item (Wrong customer, wrong item). I tried calling them for two hours, but got an answer machine or a busy signal. I finally sent them an email requesting that they cancel my order, and, oh look, a miracle! I got an email telling me the phones worked just fine now. When I finally did get someone on the phone, I gave them a chance to make it right by updating me on my order. They could not tell me if the item was in stock or if, or when, it would ship. When I asked to speak to the manager in charge of refunds, they hung up on me. FYI - "Valley Village, CA", their listed address, is not a town in California. It is either a condo or a trailer park in the valley in LA.

Do yourself a favor. Buy from a reputable company that actually has the products they advertise and actually knows when (and if!) they will ship. I wouldn't wish this company on my worse enemy!
See this warning by Bryston, a very reputable manufacturer.
