I wonder if Tarantulas the Deadly Cargo will follow?

This is great news and for a TV movie with an animals attack theme, this one is actually pretty effective. It's wonderful to see all these classic (sometimes less classic) TV movies finally coming out, such a rich and bottomless treasure chest.

Was this one with the weird ending when the lead woman become the "queen of the ants" or something like that?

No, I think that was Empire Of The Ants with Joan Collins.

If the ants aren't willing to do an audio commentary it'll be a hard pass for me.

I remember the big-box VHS at a local mom-and-pop from back in the day! If they use that cover art on a slip, I may have to get this!

I have a DVD somewhere, but I don't recall if it's widescreen or not. I think it came in a 2-pack w/ Tarantulas: The Deadly Cargo.

A mountain resort is ravaged by a deadly force in this terrifying tale of Mother Nature’s revenge—Ants!, a.k.a. It Happened at Lakewood Manor. Expecting a weekend of luxurious self-indulgence, visitors at the ritzy Lakewood Manor soon discover they’re the entrée of the day for an army of malevolent ants with an appetite for human flesh. When these killer creepy-crawlies eat toxic insecticides, they don’t die—they just get meaner. Vacation is no picnic in this cult eco-horror classic. The delicious cast includes Suzanne Somers (TV’s Three’s Company), Robert Foxworth (The Black Marble), Lynda Day George (TV’s Fear No Evil), Bernie Casey (TV’s The Martian Chronicles), Barry Van Dyke (TV’s Diagnosis Murder), Steve Franken (The Party), Karen Lamm (Trackdown) and Brian Dennehy (F/X) with a special appearance by celluloid great Myrna Loy (Love Me Tonight). Directed by TV veteran Robert Scheerer (TV’s Kolchak: The Night Stalker).

I'm pretty sure I've seen ANTS on TV when I was a kid - I just don't remember. Love these kinds of movies so definite blind buy.

I seem to have similar memories as well. Generally speaking I'm not huge on the Nature attacks subgenre but something about this one speaks to me. The fact that it's coming from Kino is fantastic as it means it will fall within a price point I can justify for this kind of film/blind buy.

Wow, that's surprisingly a lot of extras for this title. I'm not complaining, but I never would have expected such a comprehensive package for a TV film that isn't well remembered and doesn't have much of following either.

I watched a pretty fuzzy stream a few weeks ago but I thought this was really enjoyable and very well done.

Suzanne Somers must have been too busy with all her other projects to contribute to the release.

I originally saw Ants on TV, but it must have been a rerun because, as a little kid, I seem to remember it being around 1980. (I was too young in 1977.)

Definitely I will be picking this up! I never knew it played in theaters, so it should be fun watching the 1:85:1 theatrical AR version for the first time!

this is $14.97 as a pre-order from KINO but I would have to combine it with other stuff to get free shipping and then wait for everything to ship at once...

ordered from BULLMOOSE for $17.97...

did the same thing with TARANTULAS--THE DEADLY CARGO..

Really looking forward to this one. As others have mentioned, I watched a couple reruns of it on broadcast tv as a kid. Was creeped out by the idea of being covered/attacked by ants for awhile afterward lol
