I thought the special “Family Dog” episode was edited on film, as it was shown in full at some festivals, and a shortened version was attached to The Land Before Time

I'd take that over nothing. Here in North America we've only ever had the first season released.

Could be, but was it in HD on the Land Before Time disc?

I placed an order yesterday that took me days to whittle down to just five.

Trapeze is Grade "A" Fields to me - one of his "big three," along with It's A Gift and The Bank Dick (also both avail from Kino).

I've never experimented with Hope titles before - he's by far the biggest comedian of the 30s/40s whose films I haven't done a deep dive into. I'm looking forward to viewing these solo comedies of his.

Watched the Kino release of Razzia Sur La Chnouf last night for the first time. A solid crime film with a lot of powerful performances that felt very real, especially from the two hitman characters. A lot of times these type of characters come off as very one dimensional, but here their characters are given a lot of breathing room. Was long overdue to watching this one.

I do hope the upcoming Gaumont deal has more Jean Gabin and Lino Ventura films.

A mountain resort is ravaged by a deadly force in this terrifying tale of Mother Nature’s revenge—Ants!, a.k.a. It Happened at Lakewood Manor. Expecting a weekend of luxurious self-indulgence, visitors at the ritzy Lakewood Manor soon discover they’re the entrée of the day for an army of malevolent ants with an appetite for human flesh. When these killer creepy-crawlies eat toxic insecticides, they don’t die—they just get meaner. Vacation is no picnic in this cult eco-horror classic. The delicious cast includes Suzanne Somers (TV’s Three’s Company), Robert Foxworth (The Black Marble), Lynda Day George (TV’s Fear No Evil), Bernie Casey (TV’s The Martian Chronicles), Barry Van Dyke (TV’s Diagnosis Murder), Steve Franken (The Party), Karen Lamm (Trackdown) and Brian Dennehy (F/X) with a special appearance by celluloid great Myrna Loy (Love Me Tonight). Directed by TV veteran Robert Scheerer (TV’s Kolchak: The Night Stalker).

Ants looks like an excellent package. Don't know much about it but I'm intrigued, especially with the TV and Theatrical aspect ratios. Love when both are included.

I saw it on TV as a child and ants became one of the few things I ever had recurring nightmares about, well into adulthood as well.

Kino Insider - In regard to the 2 new-to-Blu 80s Cannon titles in the MGM deal that were previously released on DVD, can you say if these releases were pressed (at least at first) or first appeared as part of the MGM MOD collection? Thanks.

This just shows how badly she is underappreciated. She has a real gift for comedy to complement her dramatic talents - I'm truly baffled why she isn't more popular. I thought the two Carol Lombard sets were excellent, and Kino has a couple of solid individual offerings as well. One of my favorite actresses.

Here's my two orders, along with thoughts on the ones I've already watched:

Revenge of the Shogun Women 3-D
Jungle Fever -- pretty much as good as I remembered it. Samuel Jackson's performance as Gator really steals the show.
A Pure Formality -- loved the acting in this one from the two leads. I liked the story, and it kept me engaged, not sure what to make of the ending.
Bend of the River -- really entertained by this one. Some overly earnest moments, but overall a solid western.
The Four Seasons
Outside the Law -- loved the sets. Solid story and performances. Informative audio commentary, too.
The Wild Life
Eastern Promises 4KUHD
Bad Company
Pitfall

Trying to read Kino tea leaves - hoping maybe that Shadow of the Vampire might be in the MGM deal. I can't see that it is excluded. Other than 2 dated DVD releases in the early 2000s, it's only other release has been as a German region locked blu.

Well, I for one really appreciated the upgrade. One of the very few times I have upgraded a bluray with another blu-ray. Differences were not trivial.

I am truly saddened that these actor box sets did not sell well. I am just getting around to watching the Deanna Durbin set. Wonderful films, fantastic PQ, and some of the best commentaries I have heard. A true pleasure all around.

Just a shame these weren't a big seller for you.

The Umbrella DVD release of the Amazing Stories second season plays fine on region 1 players if you really want it.

Agreed, the actor box sets were some of my favorite releases from KLSC. I'm sad that it doesn't sound like we'll see many more of them, but grateful for the ones that were released.

I have them all except for Audie Murphy (which ironically was the best-selling one, according to KLI). I might still grab it just for completist purposes.
