I thought the special “Family Dog” episode was edited on film, as it was shown in full at some festivals, and a shortened version was attached to The Land Before Time |

I placed an order yesterday that took me days to whittle down to just five.
Trapeze is Grade "A" Fields to me - one of his "big three," along with It's A Gift and The Bank Dick (also both avail from Kino). I've never experimented with Hope titles before - he's by far the biggest comedian of the 30s/40s whose films I haven't done a deep dive into. I'm looking forward to viewing these solo comedies of his. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Watched the Kino release of Razzia Sur La Chnouf last night for the first time. A solid crime film with a lot of powerful performances that felt very real, especially from the two hitman characters. A lot of times these type of characters come off as very one dimensional, but here their characters are given a lot of breathing room. Was long overdue to watching this one.
I do hope the upcoming Gaumont deal has more Jean Gabin and Lino Ventura films. |

The previous version was also not a good seller, the new version looked much better than the previous version, the earlier release had dull a faded colors, the new one sharper and brighter, a full restoration could cost six figures and no one in their right mind would take on such a project.

Ants looks like an excellent package. Don't know much about it but I'm intrigued, especially with the TV and Theatrical aspect ratios. Love when both are included.

Kino Insider - In regard to the 2 new-to-Blu 80s Cannon titles in the MGM deal that were previously released on DVD, can you say if these releases were pressed (at least at first) or first appeared as part of the MGM MOD collection? Thanks.

This just shows how badly she is underappreciated. She has a real gift for comedy to complement her dramatic talents - I'm truly baffled why she isn't more popular. I thought the two Carol Lombard sets were excellent, and Kino has a couple of solid individual offerings as well. One of my favorite actresses.

Here's my two orders, along with thoughts on the ones I've already watched:
Revenge of the Shogun Women 3-D Jungle Fever -- pretty much as good as I remembered it. Samuel Jackson's performance as Gator really steals the show. A Pure Formality -- loved the acting in this one from the two leads. I liked the story, and it kept me engaged, not sure what to make of the ending. Bend of the River -- really entertained by this one. Some overly earnest moments, but overall a solid western. The Four Seasons Outside the Law -- loved the sets. Solid story and performances. Informative audio commentary, too. The Wild Life Eastern Promises 4KUHD Bad Company Pitfall |

Trying to read Kino tea leaves - hoping maybe that Shadow of the Vampire might be in the MGM deal. I can't see that it is excluded. Other than 2 dated DVD releases in the early 2000s, it's only other release has been as a German region locked blu.

I am truly saddened that these actor box sets did not sell well. I am just getting around to watching the Deanna Durbin set. Wonderful films, fantastic PQ, and some of the best commentaries I have heard. A true pleasure all around. Just a shame these weren't a big seller for you. |
