Canada Blu-ray Archduke Top contributor Member since:Mar 2007 Location:Victoria, BC Home Theater Gallery:17 4K collection:305 Blu-ray collection:1201 DVD collection:37 Blu-ray reviews:42	The "Blu-ray discs more expensive" FUD argument One of the major knocks against Blu Ray by HD DVD (Toshiba) was the disks were going to be more expensive due to the fact that you could not produce them with a retro fit of the existing DVD plants. I just checked out Future Shop (Best Buy in Eastern Canada and the States) and I did not notice any difference in the average price of Blu Ray vs HD DVD. Actually I noticed the opposite albiet rarely the price of the same Blu Ray and HD DVD the Blu Ray was 2-3 dollars cheaper. This might be because they did not have a SD-DVD side.
