I want to buy Jingle All the Way but no stores carry it in my area. Unless I go to Best buy and get the 3 pack with that, Home alone(which I already own) and the other Miracle on 34th street

As of Dec. 1, we will have both Mystery Science Theater 3000 Christmas episodes available on disk--"Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" and the Mexican "Santa Claus"--the former of which is already a Christmas tradition.

But mandatory annual Christmas viewing?
The Art Carney "Twilight Zone" episode (coming soon to Blu). Non-negotiable.
(The Donald Pleasance Mr-Chips one is okay for the holidays, but I'll put the Carney episode up against any viewing of "It's a Wonderful Life", and challenge you not to melt every time that tinkly "First Noel" theme appears on the soundtrack.)

I am mainly quoting your post for the TCV reference in your avatar. I will hijack this Christmas thread if it means more awareness of Them Crooked Vultures.

To STAY on topic... I plan to watch Christmas Vacation, Home Alone (1 & 2), and MAYBE squeeze Elf in this year too. In addition to that, I need to compile Christmas episodes of my favourite shows such as the ones listed above, plus It's Always Sunny and Trailer Park Boys. The first Family Guy Christmas episode was great too.

As for TV episodes, there are 2 50's B&W episodes of the show Dragnet that I like that are X-mas themed. The Big Little Jesus (also remade during the 60's color run of the show using some of the same actors!)) and The Big 22 Rifle for Christmas, that one IS very emotional!

Wow I remember those episodes very well, both stick with you after watching them. The first one involves the theft of a Jesus statue at "The Old Mission Church", which is still in Los Angeles by the way. And the 2nd one is very sad, when a boy shoots and kills his best friend w/ a 22 rifle, an X-mas gift he unfortunately found early in a closet, "A Christmas Story" this isnt. Dragnet was an incredible show.

Right now? none of the above because for whatever reason, no retailer had any Christmas movie on sale this past week. Perfect time to put the grinch movies, Xmas vacation or story (maybe vacation was on sale and I missed it?) for $10 or less. And they all dropped the dang ball.

My Holiday season starts off Halloween Night. My son and I watch "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown".

The night before Thanksgiving we watch "Charlie Brown Thanksgiving", and on Thanksgiving Day we watch "Plane, Trains, and Automobiles" (Minus the F Bomb Sequence).

Black Friday we watch "Charlie Brown Christmas" while putting up the tree.

During the Christmas Break we'll watch "Polar Express", "Charlie Brown Christmas" and whatever's on TV.

Then of course there's "A Christmas Story" on TNT.
