Price match - Blu-ray Forum

i am not completely sure how price matching works (coming from the uk) but i was out in miami last week, in best buy, and i wanted to buy Wings of Desire and Dexter season 3, which were both significantly cheaper online, i took them both to customer services and asked, and the woman there checked online and charged me the cheaper prices for both, which was great.Would this happen in all best buys or is it up to the individual store?

Actually. BB will price match stores such as Target, Wal-Mart, Toys-R-US. As long as you bring in the sales ad, BB "should" PM these stores.. excluding their Online Stores.

Others claim and stated that some BB stores will PM Amazon as well. For me I never tried, but I have recently PM Wal-Mart's price at the store without showing them the sales ad as they looked up the price online for me.

It really depends which store, and associate/manager you deal with. Some hate em, some love them.
I'm happy with my BB.

Many Best Buy stores have also started calling the retailer you're trying to match, to verify the product is in-stock. If it's not in-stock, they won't give you the price match, they feel you couldn't cross the street and buy it cheaper.

I have NOT had and Best Buy call to verify, then ask for the price. Which is good, since pretty much all online pricing is lower than in-store.

I've had Best Buy price match their own website, but I've never asked them for any others. It still baffles me why they have two different sites though--one regular site, and an in-store site.
