Default Recommended crossover cut off for a Yamaha YST-SW315PN?

Just bought a new sub, Yamaha YST-SW315(PN)...Great sub, pic's in my HT Gallery. If any one could recommend crossover setting I would greatly appreciate it. Right now the High Cut is set to 150Hz...is this correct?

You should set your crossover setting in your receiver to 80 Hz ! Speakers all set to Small .

If I'm not mistaken it should be 120 Hz .

Default Crossover Settings

Hello

The crossover settings should be identical; so, both at 80Hz.

Thank You

It depends on how the sub is connected to your receiver. If you are using the subwoofer out on the receiver, then the signal is pre-filtered, so you should set the filter on the sub as high as it will go to avoid interaction with the receivers filter. Unless your sub has an LFE input, which typically bypasses the filter anyway. Otherwise, if you are using line-level inputs or stereo pre-outs to the sub, then the receiver's filter isn't affecting those signals, and you can set the sub's low-pass to 80 hz, like you stated for your desired speaker crossover point.

This is the right answer (with the bolded area far and away the most common setup)...there is some wrong advise elsewhere in this thread. Nice looking setup!
