Default PS1 Classics on PS3 Inquiry

Hey guys, I recently purchased Wild Arms and the Crash Bandicoot series for the PS3 and I also created the "virtual" memory card for PS1 games via the options menu on the PS3. Anyhow, upon playing some of the games, I noticed it did not recognize the virtual memory card I created for PS1 games, thus, I was not able to save my progress. Do I need to purchase an actual PS1 memory and hook it up to my PS3? Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have no idea! But I found out that I had to assign my PS3 controllers to port 1, 3, 5 and 7 to play 4-player in Crash Teamracing - maybe some of the other games have glitches you can google, or other people on here know of

Each memory slot takes up a slot and so like for instance if you have 1 specifically for PS1 games, and let's just say you have 1 for PS2 games if you have backwards compatible PS3 you would need to select the PS1 Virtual Memory card as Slot 1 and if you wanted to switch to the PS2 Virtual Memory then you assign that 1 to Slot 1.
