Default Polar Express 3D / Dolby TrueHD anyone?

Anyone picking this up on Tuesday? I certainly am now that it has the right sound attached.

Are you sure about the True-HD Spec. HDD specifies lossy Dolby digital.

Also, check here: http://whv.warnerbros.com/WHVPORTAL/....jsp?OID=50427

I am skipping this title: No lossless audio = no sale. Warner needs to stop this practice.

The 3-D doesn't interest me as must as the HD picture & sound. The original blu-ray is a piece of garbage. C'mon, the DVD is 8.5Gb. Going to HD on a 15GB HD DVD is supposed to do it justice? The bit rate barely hit the 20's. Terrible, terrible port over.

your talking about the old version which was a port of the hd-dvd to blu-ray because HDD hasnt even reviewed the newer version yet

There are those out there who commented on the other POLAR EXP thread that they already watched the 3-D version etc but for some odd reason wouldn't comment on the audio specs on both versions. It seems the 3-D gets True HD audio ... but no one can confirm the 2-D version.

So how are the high-def 3d's? Does it look good, or does the blue and red glasses mess up the picture? I know polarized is best, but not possible with current blu-ray players and such.

Is the picture of this re-release remastered ?
I am curious as to the look and feel of this 3D thing.

Mine was delivered on Friday night from the WB store and I wasn't a huge fan of the 3D image, it's a cool gimmick but I prefer the 1080p 2D version. I didn't watch the whole thing in 3D just certain parts and I'm in no way saying it's bad or discouraging anyone from buying it. And yes the 2D version does have the TrueHD track as well

FINALLY!!!! Everyone has been dying to know about the sound on the 2 D version! ... I wonder if the 2-D version has a higher encode than the first issue... I think DVDbeaver reported the image seemed softer than they imagined on the original blu release.

the SOUND news is great to know!

Sorry for the confusion. I checked Warner's site for this title before posting and the site indicated DD 5.1 and not TrueHD. I am not sure which is correct but I will pass on this title unless the reviews change my mind.

How can you find anything on DVDbeaver. That is one mess of a website. They need to hire someone to organize it. It looks like it was built by 3rd graders.

All you have to do is go to where it says "Our Blu Ray Reviews" near the top of the page, not that hard

response to DVDBeaver /

You can also click on Search to search for titles.... I know at first it is hard to tell where the links are. They seem to blend in. Currently they only have reviews for the Original Blu Ray release. just FYI

Thanks for the audio confirmation miked924.

Argh, earlier I got mixed up on the 2 threads (Polar Express 3D and Journey to the Center of the Earth) so I deleted my post.

I did not read your post at all. I was replying to moonphase. I am happy it has TrueHD but I am still passing until I read the review on Blu-ray.com and avsforum (ralph potts). I am not a fan of blue/red 3D and because it's a Warner release I have doubts about the PQ of the 2D version.

I will probably never go back to DVDBEAVER too because it's a mess.

Not sure on the bitrate, I can check some scenes tonight. Like I said I didn't watch the whole 2D version either but from what I saw I thought the pq looked good
