Default Need info on difference between 2008 and 2009 models.

I'm looking for a website (or other way) to get all the differences between different year model tvs, and even different models of the same year.

When you go to websites they usually show just the latest models and they surely don't help you with what is different between the past year models (at least that I have found).

I'm more specifically looking for the difference between the Samsung PN58B860 and previous year models. If I can save hundreds of dollars for a few minor changes then I'm all about it.

I just bought my parents a Samsung PN50B860 and love EVERYTHING about this TV!! Awesome picture for the price range, but we all agree we want it to be a little bigger but the price difference on the 58" 860 was more than I wanted to pay so I wanted to know what last year (2008) model Samsung plasmas were looking like and where I could get them. I would really like a way to find out the different model #'s that way I could do my own research online instead of having a stupid salesman telling me its only 1 more HDMI input for $800 more!!! ugh!

Want to exchange the 50" 860 for the 58" Samsung 860 or similar.

Thanks for the help

Well, finding LAST YEAR'S model is going to be quite difficult, as the 2010 models are about to be released. That would make the 2009 models " last year's model ". Your best bang for the buck would be a 2009 model Panasonic plasma. Right now, you can find unheard of prices on Panny plasmas at Sears. Also check out Best Buy. You can go online to http://www.amazon.com and get prices from several online retailers, as well. Additionally, you'll be getting the latest technology. Include into this the fact that Samsung has a less than wonderful reliability history, and poor customer service, too. Panasonic is globally renowned as the very best HDTV being manufactured today.

Which Panasonic model is equivalent to (or beats) the Samsung PN58B860?
And where is the best place to purchase one?

Default Panasonic Plasma

Most any Panasonic will beat any Samsung. You can get great prices on the Pansonic S1 series, G10 series and V10 series right now. These 3 are all 1080p plasmas. Check out http://www.amazon.com and http://www.vanns.com for online retailers. You can also check out your local Sears and Best Buy.

I know if you are a Panny lover you would say "Most any Panasonic will beat any Samsung."

I know a Panny S1 will not touch the Samsung 860.

I was asking for the equivalent model Panasonic to the Samsung 860 I was thinking the V or Z series Pannys can compete?

What is your budget? Right now you can get a 50" G10 for around 1100.00 bucks. Or you can get the 58" V10 for around 2200.00. (Gotta know where to look. You can PM me). I think the Panny's are the 2nd best displays next to the Kuro's. I've seen the G10' in friends of mine homes as well as the 58" V10. I can't express how shocked I was. The picture quality was amazing. Crisp, bright and razor sharp. (I had last years model 58" 850U that I recently sold).

Well I picked up a Samsung 50" 860 from Best Buy for under $1,500 a couple weeks ago for my parents for Christmas. We all absolutely love it!! now if there is a Panasonic that beats it for that price then I will look at it. But we all know you cant tell any of that in the stores since they use different settings to make different tvs look good depending on what they want to sale.

I bought the 860 cause I knew it was a good tv. It doesn't even look great in the store but bring that baby home and put in a 1080P Blu Ray and man it looks amazing. I'm interested in Pannys but I don't want to put down that much more for a V10.

I don't know I think we may be keeping the Samsung, but I will still be looking around (got the 30 days)

Panny 50" G10 to me is a much better TV and can be had for around 1100.00. wait till you get that display home. WOW does it look great. The V10 completes with the Sammy 8500.00 which is Samsung's Best display to date. If your happy with your new purchase, that's all that matters. Keep the Sammy and enjoy it.
