Default Gamer dominates January 18-24th sales

Blu-ray Sales, Jan. 18-24: Gamer Is Winner
Posted January 28, 2010 03:13 AM by Juan Calonge

'Gamer' was the top-selling title on Blu-ray during the week ended January 24, according to Nielsen VideoScan First Alert. This science-fiction/action movie (which was far from a box office hit) benefited from Lionsgate's long-standing strategy of saving some appealing content for release after the holiday season. BD accounted for 31% of total disc sales of this title.

Overall, BD sales revenue was $19.46 million, up 24.26% from the same week last year.

Packaged-media sales revenue was $151.40 million, down 6.98% year-on-year. Blu-ray accounted for 12.9% of that revenue.

The top 10 and Blu-ray percentages for the week's releases will be added as soon as they are published.

At least blu sales are up 25% from the same point last year, not too bad. Let's make it 50% for the next quarter guys, better retailer pricing would help.
