Default I Won a 32" LCD at My Office Party!

...and gave it back!

We had a live-action whodunnit show going on during our company Christmas party Saturday night. At the end of the show, everyone was asked to submit a card with the killer's name, the reason the murder was committed and the clue that lead you to the conclusion. The person who got the killer correct won a 32" LCD TV, and for multiple correct answers a drawing would be held. Following the clues, I submitted my answer, but then my wife had an off-the-wall theaory that seemed to fit the story better. I filled-out another card, turned that one in and asked them to pull-out my previous answer card.

Well, you can guess what happened next. My first answer WAS correct, and my card was drawn as the winner. As we all discussed our "new" theory at the table, a half-dozen people knew I had changed my answer. Because of this and the fact that my conscience would not allow me to accept the prize knowing I had changed my answer, I asked to be disqualified from the drawing.

C'est la vie... It was only a disposable Dynex set (which I would have taken back for credit toward something better) worth ~$300, but it would have worked perfectly for my son for Christmas. We bought him a Panasonic 32" TV from WM during the 20% Bing cash-back sale, and I could have returned that and saved some $$.

Maybe this will bank me some brownie-points for the future. We'll see how Karma treats this one for me in the days/weeks/months to come.
