Default Sony BDP S-350 : BD Live problem - firmware 020

I am having problem with my S-350 unit .. It will not perform the BD live, everytime i click the "BD live" feature the player gives a message that my unit is NOT BD Live Compatible .. ?????

I have update the firmware to 020 version ..

Anybody ever experience the same problem ..?? How to solve this ..

Two things:

1. Is your player connected to the internet?

2. Did you install a USB Flash Drive in the back of the player?

Also, check in the S350's menu (Network Settings) to make sure that your player is correctly configured for internet access. See page 50 of your Operating Instructions.

Usually, it's just a matter of using DHCP and let your player connect automatically from there.

Because the S350 has a recessed USB port, you must find a USB thumb drive which has a slim profile (not much larger than the USB plug itself) so that it will fit properly. Most USB thumb drives will work fine, but some are too big (such as older Sandisk Cruizer thumb drives).

Good luck!

Yea, either it's bad or it may need to be formatted. I have a 1 gig in my 350 and once in a while I wipe out all the data to free up space.

Glad you got it working!!!!

Question: When you update firmware via the internet, does it use the flash drive? I was able to update the firmware, but it wouldn't let me access bdlive features.

No the player does not utilize the flash drive for Firmware updrades.

If you updated your firmware via an internet connection, then you should have no problem accessing BD Live content, considering you do have a Flash Drive inserted in the back of the player. If you have multiple movies with BD Live features, try them out to see if you can access the content. If not, reformat the flash drive from a PC (or MAC), then insert it back into the player.

I had to do this when the new BD Live content for Transformers (new Transformers 2 video content) would not load.

Sometimes the content of what ever disc you are watching requires an update from the web. "Terminator 2 (Skynet Edition)", and "The Spirit" are two examples. These types of updates are independent of BD Live.

Thanks for the info. I think my flash drive isn't compatible.
