Default Samsung IR Blocking Other Devices

I read about the possibility of my current tv (Samsung LN52A850) blocking certain IR frequencies (specifically my Dish Vip722 Receiver/DVR). So the sensor on the DVR has a harder time picking up input signals being sent from the Dish remote (or my Universal remote). Has anyone had this similar problem and/or come across any remedies ??

i have talked several comcast cable customers with this exact same issue. all with samsung or toshiba tv's. the fix was to plug a external remote censer into the back of the cable box (IR in) and place the censer as far away from the tv's censer as possible. not perfect but it worked.

I'll have to look into that. Do you think that is something I could request from Dish Network or would they consider that an "add-on" and I would have to pay extra for it ?

Dish was able to send me a UHF/IR remote. Once I assigned the new remote to the receiver I was good to go ( at no cost to me ).
