Default PS3 and SD — image drops, screen turns black mostly on Netflix

I am having the problem as mentioned in the title. I am using a 32" Vizio. It only occurs with standard definition video. I am using Monoprice HDMI cables and am outputting the video at 720p. I have updated to the latest firmware. It is really annoying and seems to only happen on standard definition. It mostly occurs when I am watching Netflix movies on instant streaming: about a half hour into the movie, the image will drop and the screen will turn to black for about a second. The audio stays fine during this time. It then continues to occur. I know it is not a problem with the particular streaming titles because when I rewind, the image does not drop at the same place and because when I was watching my Mad Detective Blu-ray, which contains features in standard definition, the image drops there too.

Again, I have tried switching cables and still see the problem occurring. I have not tried different HDMI outlets on my TV because one outlet is always hooked up to my upconverting DVD player and I never have a problem with that. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and am hoping it can be fixed. Any help is greatly appreciated, as others may have the same problem.
