Default PS3 help!! black screen

hello all, I have a problem and I'm hoping you chaps can help me. Today I turned on my ps3 (or rather my wife did) to watch a movie and all we got was a black screen. The ps3 will eject the dvd and the on/off button works and is still blue. I'm at a lost. I've unplugged everything and put them back in and still no luck. Any information would be great.

Have you used it before without having this problem?

Did you do any changes to the video output?

What connection are you using? (HDMI, component etc)

k try this...hod the power button down until it resets itself like 3-5 secs. the ps3 will reset itself, go ahead and try that then see what happens

Answer a couple of questions:

Is it DVD and Blu-ray?

Is there the loading icon in the top right corner?

Can you load PS3 games?
