United Kingdom Cheap Speakers

Can somebody please find me the cheapest speakers that will sound good with my bluray player.

I'm in the UK, so UK sites would be preferred (eg. argos, play.com etc.)

I only have the TV speakers now, so NON-HD speakers would sound alot better than I have now, because TV speakers aren't HD, surely?

Thanks very much in advance
Sam

Sam . You will also need A receiver with the speakers to get what you are looking for . Don't know if you knew that .

Polk makes an inexpensive speaker that sounds good if you can get them in the UK .

Hi Sam. Did you read my post in your other thread?
Crazy is correct, but you can avoid buying a receiver if you use powered 2.1 PC style speakers or a sound bar. Both will be superior to your TV speakers and just plug into a headphone jack and the wall.
I don't live in the UK so I wont be able to help you shop. Good luck.

To get what you are looking for ~ HD codecs --Dolby True HD , DTS MA , PCM ,You will need to have A receiver ! A sound bar will not give you that .

You need A receiver that will either read them or pass them threw in order to get the sound you are looking for !

These speakers are nothing special but I use the : Technika 5.1 Speaker System HCHKAW08

They can be obtained from Tescos for a measly £20.00. For my situation and where I live they are fantastic and I couldnt be happier.

Do you know what he is looking for? He never said anything about wanting the HD codecs, or even surround sound. He wanted something better then his TV speakers, and from another thread I knew his budget was $150.
Sorry Crazy, but there is no way a surround sound setup will meet his needs, or more importantly his budget.

i'll suggest the sony ht-ct100. it's a soundbar that allows for up to 3 hdmi devices. it also accepts lcpm, so if you have a blu ray player that decodes the latest codecs you're set.

i have one of these in my bedroom hooked up to a ps3 and can vouch it's a great improvement over tv speakers. i paid around $200 for it brand new. it's a little more expensive now, but i think this would be a great solution for you. very simple set up and great sound for what it is.

The title of the thread says cheap speakers. Here is my recommendation for very cheap speakers.

Eco-friendly, foldable, self-powered, and recycled cardboard speakers from OrigAudio. You can put a 6 pack in your garage or bathroom.

Canvas, $16

City Scape, $16

Surf Break, $16

6 Pack, $60

48 Pack, $385

Sir, you will definately need a receiver and a real budget of some type. The speakers you have selected are no better than TV speakers. I can tell that you are not willing to go all out but I have managed to put together a few systems from UK sites for you to reconsider.
MTX system 129 pounds http://www.magnetdeals.com/mtx-audio...er-system.html

or go up to a Jamo system 279 pounds http://www.go-electrical.co.uk/view/...ption/ref/3688

Here's a Yamaha receiver for 239.00 pounds http://www.hifibitz.co.uk/product.as...38&lastid=8737

These will be spades above the 22 pound system that you are about to purchase. To get the best sound of of your Bluray player you will need a receiver and a decent set of speakers.
