With a better amp like a Rotel - Blu-ray Forum

I have a Pioneer Elite now if I got a better amp like a Rotel with less distortion could I theoretically have it at higher volume before I noticed distortion.

VSX 91X. It sounds very good but I hear Rotel is the next step up the ladder.

Depending on the exact model of amp you buy you would almost certainly have more power and would therefore be able to play louder without distortion or clipping. However, the question is would you really be using this increased volume or would it be too much for practical use? Are you currently listening at levels where you're getting distortion or clipping?
